Window tint should always be installed in a garage or other enclosed area that is shielded from wind as it can make installation significantly more difficult. In addition, dust and other contaminants can ruin the film when the adhesive side is exposed to the air so you always want to install in a controlled environment to obtain the best results.
(Optional) You may need to remove inner plastic pillars, tape back the felt window draft guard or even remove the door panel trim or third brake light housing to ensure easy installation to your window.
Your window tint job will only be as good as your cleaning and preparation. That's why it is of the utmost importance to remove all dust, oil and residues not only from the windows but from the surrounding panels and even the area in which you'll be tinting.
A) Open your window tint package and lay out the precut tint pieces found inside somewhere flat and clean. At this point visualize where each piece of pre cut tint will go onto your vehicle.
B) Clean all of your windows with a mild soap and water solution. For our installations we recommend a 99% water and a 1% chemical free soap solution. make sure to clean both sides which allows for a neat and clean installation.
C) Wash the windows for a second time and squeegee it dry.
A) Locate the appropriate precut tint pattern for the window that you will be working on.
(For Rolldown Side Windows Only) Roll down your glass window about 1/2 inch from the window felt.
B) Spray outside window and lay out on top the pre-cut tint pattern.
Important: Clear plastic liner must be on the outside.
Mist your fingers, then carefully and slowly lift a corner and begin to peel the liner,
be sure to spray the adhesive as you peel.
* Do not completely remove it, leave at least 4 inches from bottom unpeeled to aide in film handling and installation. Be careful not to crease or tear your precut tint.
Mist your fingers. Gingerly pick up your tint and transfer it from the outside to the inside. (Adhesive side must be face inside glass)
Be sure there is enough solution on the film and the glass to ensure the film will not adhere prematurely before it is positioned
* Be careful not to allow the tint to fold over onto itself or touch your clothing or any surface of the vehicle.
A) Once in place, spray the tint and begin to squeeze slightly all the water under the film to the sides.
B) Spray the film and squeegee it again, more firmly this time, to remove more water from under the film.
Repeat this process as neccessary to make sure most of the water is out.
* Blot away excess water at the top edge with a paper towel (we recommend wrapping a hard card with a paper towel for this procedure).
You may now roll the window up.
*Make sure no water is left under tint on top section and tint its completely flat otherwise tint will lift when rolling window up
A) Delicately remove remaining liner, accomplish this by holding the tint against the window firmly with one hand and pulling the liner down and away with your other hand.
Be sure to spray the adhesive as you peel.
B) Using a hard card open up a gap between the window and the seal gasket, tuck in tint beneath seal gasket.
A) Once in place, spray the tint and begin to squeeze slightly all the water under the film down.
B) Spray the film and squeegee it again, more firmly this time, to remove more water from under the film.
*Repeat this process as necessary to make sure most of the water is out.
Congratulations!!! your window installation has been complete. You can call your friends now and brag about your installation.
DON'T FORGET: Do not to roll down your finished tinted windows for at least 3 days until windows have properly cured.
Do not use abrasive products that could shorten the life of your tint.
